Taquo

Privacy Policy

Last updated 2 September 2026

Taquo is a personal watchlist for films and television. This page describes exactly what it stores about you, who else can see it, and how to get rid of it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

What Taquo stores

  • Your email address. Used to identify your account and sign you in. Nothing else.
  • A display name and avatar, if you sign in with Google. Google provides these; Taquo does not ask Google for anything beyond your name, email address, and profile picture.
  • Your library. The films and shows you add, whether you have watched them, your star ratings, and any notes you write.

What Taquo does not store

  • Your password. Authentication is handled by Supabase. Taquo never sees, receives, or stores a password.
  • Payment details, postal addresses, or phone numbers. Taquo does not collect them because it has no use for them.
  • Analytics or advertising trackers. Taquo does not use them.

Who else is involved

Taquo relies on a small number of services to function. Each sees only what it needs:

  • Supabase stores the database and handles sign-in, including password hashing.
  • Vercel hosts the site and processes the requests your browser makes.
  • TMDB supplies film and television metadata. Your search terms reach TMDB; your identity does not.
  • Google, only if you choose to sign in with it.
  • Upstash holds short-lived request counters used to limit abuse. These are keyed on your IP address and expire within minutes.
  • Sentry runs error-monitoring code in your browser and on Taquo's servers. When Taquo crashes, Sentry receives the error, its stack trace, and the page path where it happened so the problem can be fixed. Taquo strips email addresses, sign-in cookies, session details, and query strings before sending an event. Sentry is not used for advertising or behavioural tracking, and this data is not sold.

Your library is never sold, shared, or published. Other users cannot see it. Ordinary database access is restricted to the account that made it. Taquo's operator can see an allowlisted support view with your email, signup and last sign-in dates, whether onboarding is complete, and aggregate counts of library items, ratings, and recommendations. The operator cannot see which titles are in your library, the rating values you gave, or your review text through that view. The operator may flag an account for internal review, keep a short internal support note, suspend or restore access, restart onboarding, regenerate recommendations, or permanently delete an account when needed to protect the service. These actions require a reason and are recorded in a restricted audit log. That view and log are not available to other users.

Cookies

Taquo sets one kind of cookie: the session cookie that keeps you signed in. There are no advertising, tracking, or analytics cookies, which is why you have not been shown a consent banner.

Deleting your data

You can remove any title, rating, or note from your library at any time, and it is deleted from the database immediately. You can also permanently delete your account yourself from the settings page. Your profile, library, ratings, notes, and recommendations are removed immediately. There is no waiting period or retained copy of that personal content. If an operator starts deletion of an abusive account, a minimal audit record containing account identifiers, the operator, and the reason is kept. Taquo also records the final result when available; an interrupted log may remain marked as pending. The audit does not retain the deleted email, library titles, rating values, or review text.

Children

Taquo is not intended for children under 13, and accounts are not knowingly created for them.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected or who sees it, the date at the top of this page will change and the difference will be described here rather than quietly folded in.
